Iceland’s Katla Volcano Alert

post by MSNBC

London—A second, much larger volcano in Iceland is showing signs that it may be about to erupt, scientists have warned. Since the start of the Eyjafjallajökull eruption, which caused cancellations of thousands of flights in Europe because of a giant ash cloud, there has been much speculation about neighboring Katla. An initial research paper by the University College of London Institute for Risk and Disaster Reduction said, “Analysis of the seismic energy released around Katla over the last decade or so is interpreted as providing evidence of a rising—intrusive magma body on the western flank of the volcano.”

“Earlier seismic energy release at Katla is associated with the inflation of the volcano, which indicates it is close to failure, although this does not appear to be linked to seismicity around Eyjafjallajökull,” it added. “We conclude that given the high frequency of Katla activity, an eruption in the short term is a strong possibility,” the report said. “It is likely to be preceded by new earthquake activity. Presently there is no unusual seismicity under Katla.”

An April 17 NASA image shows the Eyjafjallajokull volcano to the west and Myrdalsjokull ice cap, beneath which slumbers the mighty Katla volcano, to the east.

Icelandic President Ólafur Grímsson has warned governments around Europe that a significant eruption at the volcano is close. “We [Iceland] have prepared—it is high time for European governments and airline authorities all over Europe and the world to start planning for the eventual Katla eruption,” he said.

The UCL scientists, engineers and statisticians also criticized the response to the earlier eruption. “The impact of the eruption on regional airspace could have been predicted and better prepared for as the growing problem of aircraft-ash cloud encounters has been recognized for decades,” the report added. “Similarly, the potential for ash clouds, specifically from Icelandic volcanoes, to interfere with air traffic in UK, European and North Atlantic air-space was appreciated by the aviation industry well before the start of the Eyjafjallajökull eruption,” it said. “The response to the ash cloud’s arrival in UK and adjacent airspace was entirely reactive and therefore less effective than it should have been.”

Voter Fraude: Muslims at It Again! BEWARE

post by Kevin Quinn on ABC Local

Do NOT fool yourself, it is happening everywhere! They (Democrats and Moslems) know they can’t win so they are going to try and steal the elections! Harris County voter registration fraud has already begun. Do not think for one minute this is not happening all across the United States. ACORN people are still very active.

[We’ll, of course, they are. The puppet is good friends with them and had been a part of their organization. Tell me, aren’t you still that naive? Do you still believe the 2008 Presidential election was won fair and square? Someday, you are going to wake up and see the reality of all of this. This is really getting tiring trying to convince you of something you should have seen a long time ago! The 2008 Presidential Election is America’s first rigged, criminally directed election. It is totally based on fraud. Not one challenge did the People make! They got a black man in the White House. It doesn’t matter that he’s a Moslem with terrorist, murdering, killer-of-baby contacts. It doesn’t matter that criminal goons sabatoged the voting process (a process that did make the American government different from all other governments—not any more). The Election of 2008 results went unchallenged by the American people. Some tried. But the majority slept. The Election of 2008 has turned America into a third-World country! We are NO better!]

Houston (KTRK)—Local election officials are keeping busy preparing for the November election, mainly because of bad voter registration applications. They don’t believe it’s an accident. The Harris County Voter Registrar says he’s found thousands of voter applications filed in the last three months which are fraudulent. He calls this an attack on the voter rolls of Harris County. Harris County Voter Registrar Leo Vasquez’s office has pored through thousands of voter registration applications, discovering many questionable filings. Like some which appear to be the same person with the same date of birth filing six times on the same day. And that’s not all…

Vasquez said, “We have evidence indicating violations of the Texas election code, falsified documents being submitted to this governmental office and possibly violations of federal election laws.” The investigation found 1,597 instances of multiple applications for the same voter, 1,014 applications for folks already registered to vote, 325 for teenagers who are too young to register and even 25 from folks who admitted on the application they are not even U.S. citizens. “My office has been forced to expend countless hours and thousands of dollars of taxpayer money trying to sift through the garbage being dumped into our voter registration system,” Vasquez explained.Vasquez says the applications were all gathered by paid deputies with the group Houston Votes. Of the 25,000 applications the group filed in the last three months, only 7,193 were actually for new voters.

Sean Caddle is the director of Houston Votes, which he says is a privately funded organization which signs up voters. “I didn’t do anything wrong. I ran a legitimate program,” Caddle said. “What’s the motivation behind anyone else? I don’t know.”

[What do you expect him to say? They aren’t going to tell the truth! There’s too much money passing hands, give me a break! America, you are too naive, too trusting, too caring at this stage of the game. We should not have a privately funded group handling American Government voting papers. Just like the electronic voting, we should have paper. Anyone can change those numbers. There’s just too much corruptions to believe they won’t. If you think for one minute that those electronic machines are safe, then you WILL fall to tyranny!]

These allegations and the evidence collected by the voter registrar’s office will be forwarded to the district attorney’s office, the secretary of state and eventually possibly the attorney general’s office.

[WOO! I hope these are Texas offices because any further and the Demos win!]

Puppet’s Stimulus Cost More Than Iraq War

post by Mark Tapscott in Washington Examiner

Expect to hear a lot about how much the Iraq war cost in the days ahead from Democrats worried about voter wrath against their unprecedented spending excesses. The meme is simple—The economy is in a shambles because of Bush’s economic policies and his war in Iraq. As American Thinker‘s Randall Hoven points out, that’s the message being peddled by lefties as diverse as former Clinton political strategist James Carville, economist Joseph Stiglitz, and The Nation’s Washington editor, Christopher Hayes. The key point in the mantra is an alleged $3 trillion cost for the war. Well, it was expensive to be sure, in both blood and treasure, but, as Hoven notes, the CBO puts the total cost at $709 billion. To put that figure in the proper context of overall spending since the war began in 2003, Hoven provides this handy CBO chart showing the portion of the annual deficit attributable to the conflict—But there is much more to be said of this data and Hoven does an admirable job of summarizing the highlights of such an analysis.

  • The puppet’s stimulus, passed in his first month in office, will cost more than the entire Iraq War—more than $100 billion (15%) more.
  • Just the first two years of the puppet’s stimulus cost more than the entire cost of the Iraq War under President Bush, or six years of that war.
  • Iraq War spending accounted for just 3.2% of all federal spending while it lasted.
  • Iraq War spending was not even one quarter of what we spent on Medicare in the same time frame.
  • Iraq War spending was not even 15% of the total deficit spending in that time frame. The cumulative deficit, 2003-2010, would have been four-point-something trillion dollars with or without the Iraq War.
  • The Iraq War accounts for less than 8% of the federal debt held by the public at the end of 2010 ($9.031 trillion).
  • During Bush’s Iraq years, 2003-2008, the federal government spent more on education that it did on the Iraq War. (State and local governments spent about ten times more.)

Just some handy facts to recall during coming weeks as the puppet and his congressional Democratic buddies get more desperate to put the

Texas Defending Ground Zero!

post by Houston, Texas—ABC —Channel 13—16 Aug 10

[What this man says is a right out lie. There are videos on here where Moslems admit to lying when they need to protect their cause. Also, on here, are videos and articles from Moslem women who tell the real story—once a Moslem always a Moslem, there are no peaceful Moslem—they are just making believe. They are all radical when need to be. Go ahead, look. These people attack us on our land, and we are going to debate. The Japs attacked us, and there was no debating. What is the difference? These people should not even be here on our soil!]

Underwrites Offshore Drilling

post by The Wall Street Journal’s Opinion Journal Aug. 18, 2010

[If you doubt anything I write on here, after you read this, you shouldn’t. The more weather information I add, you will start to piece the puzzle together. This is a world endeavor—U.N. and IMF—for the control of oil and water. The water issue I will explain on my Abrupt Climate Change category. Open your eyes. Things are happening fast and if you are going to make a move to take back this country, you better start making it and move with haste. Americans are being seen as blind and stupid. If you believe in your heart what that video is about on my home page then you better take action. I’ll have more information on what’s happening with our weather tomorrow. Today, heed to the warning. Make your Move.]

This is a perfect example why many refrain from watching the news on ABC, NBC, CBS, or MSNBC. Today on a segment of the Glen Beck Show on FOX (Fox Cable News) was the following—Today, even though the puppet is against off shore drilling for our country, he signed an executive order to loan 2 Billion of our taxpayers dollars to a Brazilian Oil Exploration Company (which is the 8th largest company in the entire world) to drill for oil off the coast of Brazil! The oil that comes from this operation is for the sole purpose and use of China and not the U.S.A.! Now here’s the real clincher…the Chinese government is under contract to purchase all the oil that this oil field will produce, which is hundreds of millions of barrels of oil.” We have absolutely no gain from this transaction whatsoever!

Wait, it gets more interesting. Guess who is the largest individual stockholder of this Brazilian oil company and who would benefit most from this? It is American billionaire, George Soros, who was one of the puppet’s most generous financial supporter during his campaign. If you are able to connect the dots and follow the money, you are probably as upset as I am. Not a word of this transaction was broadcast on any of the other news networks! Forward this factual to others who care about this country and where it is going. Also, let all of your Government representatives know how you feel about this.

Below is the Wall street Journal article to confirm this.

You read that headline correctly. Unfortunately, the puppet administration is financing oil exploration off Brazil. The U.S. is going to lend billions of dollars to Brazil’s state-owned oil company, Petrobras, to finance exploration of the huge offshore discovery in Brazil’s Tupi oil field in the Santos Basin near Rio de Janeiro. Brazil’s planning minister confirmed that White House National Security Adviser James Jones met this month with Brazilian officials to talk about the loan. The U.S. Export-Import Bank tells us it has issued a “preliminary commitment” letter to Petrobras in the amount of $2 billion and has discussed with Brazil the possibility of increasing that amount. Ex-Im Bank says it has not decided whether the money will come in the form of a direct loan or loan guarantees. Either way, this corporate foreign aid may strike some readers as odd, given that the U.S. Treasury seems desperate for cash and Petrobras is one of the largest corporations in the Americas.

But look on the bright side. If the puppet has embraced offshore drilling in Brazil, why not in the old U.S.A.? The land of the sorta free and the home of the heavily indebted has enormous offshore oil deposits, and last year ahead of the November elections, with gasoline at $4 a gallon, Congress let a ban on offshore drilling expire. The Bush Administration’s five-year plan (2007-2012) to open the outer continental shelf to oil exploration included new lease sales in the Gulf of Mexico. But in 2007 environmentalists went to court to block drilling in Alaska and in April a federal court ruled in their favor. In May, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said his department was unsure whether that ruling applied only to Alaska or all offshore drilling. So, it asked an appeals court for clarification. Late last month the court said the earlier decision applied only to Alaska, opening the way for the sale of leases in the Gulf. Salazar now says the sales will go forward on August 19.

This is progress, however slow. But it still doesn’t allow the U.S. to explore in Alaska or along the East and West Coasts, which could be our equivalent of the Tupi oil fields, which are set to make Brazil a leading oil exporter. Americans are right to wonder why the puppet is underwriting in Brazil what he won’t allow at home.

[Now are you ready to break away from the north?]

The Plane Crash

post by author unknown

A plane crashed in the middle of rural Iowa. Panic stricken, the local sheriff mobilized and descended on the farm in force. When they got  there, the disaster was clear. The aircraft was totally destroyed with only a burned hulk left smoldering in a tree line that bordered a farm. The sheriff and his men entered the smoking mess but could find no remains of  anyone. They spotted a lone farmer plowing a field not too far away as if nothing had happened. They hurried over to the man’s tractor.

“Hank,” the sheriff yelled, panting and out of breath. “Did you see this terrible accident happen?”
“Yep. Sure did.” the farmer mumbled unconcernedly, cutting off the tractor’s engine.
“Do you realize that is the airplane of the puppet?”
“Yep.”
“Were there any survivors?”
“Nope. They’s all kilt straight out,” the farmer answered. “I done buried  them all myself. Took me most of the morning..”
The puppet is dead?” the sheriff shouted.
“Well,” the farmer grumbled, restarting his tractor. “He kept a-saying he wasn’t…But you know how bad that sumabitch lies.”

New Zealand: Possible Tsunami

post by Radio New Zealand News Aug. 16, 2010

[Update: the tsunami did not happen, of course.]

Scientists say the collapse of a massive undersea volcano off the coast of the North Island shows New Zealand could be at a high risk of tsunami. Marine geologists from the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA) have confirmed a major eruption about 200km northwest of Auckland occurred some time in the last two years. The Rumble 3 volcano, which is larger than Mount Ruapehu, has lost about 120 meters in height.

NIWA principal scientist Dr Geoffroy Lamarche says the undersea mapping shows the seabed is more active than was previously known. “We don’t want to be scaremongering here, but definitely any large displacement of (the) seafloor will pull the water down. “At the surface it will also generate a wave, and this collapse, we know because we’ve mapped it, this collapse is looking south-west, which is directly toward the New Zealand coast.” Dr. Lamarche says scientists will use the data to model the potential impact of a tsunami on Auckland and Bay of Plenty.

Russia: Icebox to Heater

post by Global Disaster Watch
Russia lashed by storm after heatwave —Russia’s record-breaking heat wave looks set to come to a dramatic end, with a severe storm now heading for Moscow after battering St Petersburg on Sunday. Nearly 100,000 people around St Petersburg were left without power, rail services were halted and trees felled amid high winds and heavy rains. Moscow is expected to be hit later. Temperatures there dropped to 25C on Monday after nearing 40C for weeks. Fires that have raged across western Russia are being brought under control. The emergencies ministry said the area affected by peat and forest fires was down to 45,800 hectares, compared to a peak of almost 200,000 hectares.
The fires took hold amid a heat wave unseen in Russia since records began, 130 years ago. More than 50 people have died in the forest fires, but the wider death toll is much larger. Hundreds, or thousands, more people perished from the direct effects of the heat, or from drowning while trying to escape it, or from the smog that has blanketed Moscow and other regions during the fires. The smog has returned to Moscow, despite the lower temperatures and reduced fire area, but is expected to be dispersed by the coming winds.

The fires and drought have also had a devastating effect on Russia’s wheat harvest. This year’s crop could be as low as 60 million tonnes, well below last year’s 97 million. The shortage is such that a ban on grain exports has been introduced, possibly until the end of the year. The measures are designed to keep domestic food prices under control, but could push world prices still higher. Concerns remain about fires near Russia’s major nuclear research facility in Sarov, about 400km (250 miles) east of Moscow, and in the Bryansk region, heavily affected by radiation from the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. Officials said on Monday that fires near Sarov had been controlled. But an environmentalist warned that radioactive material near Bryansk still posed a threat. “Almost a million cubic meters of dead radioactive wood pose serious danger if the fires spread. The forest is practically impenetrable, and we practically have no aviation so we’ll have nothing to fight the fires if they spread.” Officials said any fires that had reached the area so far have been extinguished.

3-Week long Tremors Began in 2002: Unexplained

post by author unknown

Washington—Earthquakes silent to the naked ear are revisiting the North Olympic Peninsula. Crews are doubling the number of seismic recording devices between Port Angeles and Port Townsend to measure tremors that make their presence known every 15 months or so in northwestern Washington. The “tremor-and-slip” events have occurred about every 15 months since they were first detected in 2002. The latest were felt Sunday north of Olympia and west of Tacoma. They are expected to travel north under the Peninsula to Vancouver Island. The tremors are expected to last about three weeks and chances are “very small” that they will be felt on the surface. Over the course of several weeks, these silent tremors can release as much energy as a magnitude 6 earthquake. They emanate from the Cascadia subduction fault zone about 50 miles off the Washington coast. Scientists hope the data that’s gathered helps them understand “what controls the timing of these events.” The surface of the fault “is right under your feet there” about 20 miles below surface. “We don’t understand why they are such weak events. It lets out few centimeters every year, compared to the big ones, which let out 10 meters of slip every 500 years,” or 33 feet. “Another mystery is why it takes two or three weeks for all this movement to occur rather than a couple of minutes like a giant earthquake. We are trying to understand what is happening with this kind of faulting.” The last subduction zone earthquake in the Pacific Northwest was in 1700, so the chance is “very small” that a large earthquake will occur during the present round of tremors.
